When it comes men’s fashion and trends Pinterest’s 2019 trend report reports that a number of classics are making a comeback in the world of style.  Some of these trends include plaid pants, neck scarves, cropped trousers, mismatched prints and vintage watches. On the jewellery side of things we have seen an increase in demand of copper and magnetic bracelets.

This quote sums up why men’s classic and timeless jewellery is so popular.

“They want their jewelry to be unique, to be part of their story telling.”

“Men want jewelry that holds some meaning.”

Ms. Giberson of the Accessories Council said.

Copper jewellery and in particular copper bracelets is a classic style statement and come in all sorts of styles and types if you have come across them before you may have wondered if they are a style accessory or a medical related bangle. Well we are here to explain in a bit of detail and hopefully debunk a few myths so you can shop away with the knowledge to hand.

Oxidisation is a technique that has been around for generations, it can add an aged look to a piece of jewellery and add to its uniqueness. Our darker oxidised copper bracelets are our second best selling bracelets. We have several within our collection, the colour of oxidised copper almost looks like a dark rose gold giving our bracelets a very elegant and timeless touch.

Magnetic jewellery has been around for quite some time, magnets are mainly used in bracelets but they can also be used in necklaces and earrings. Magnetic bracelet jewellery can be worn just as a style statement but it can have a range of health benefits such as:

  • Reduce pain
  • Increase mobility
  • Reduce stiffness

Magnets work by improving circulation by attracting the iron in the blood, this improves blood flow keeping the body healthy and healing it from injuries. Magnets can also speed up the removal of toxins from the body.

Magnetic therapy has shown to reduce the redness and swelling, as well as any pain or stiffness. Magnetic therapy can help delay wear and tear of cartilage by reducing the inflammation.

Copper is an essential mineral found in plant life and in the human body and it is also a metal alloy with a reddish-orange colour. The use of copper dates back over 10,000 years. Pure copper is very soft and malleable and is combined with other metals, such as brass and bronze, for use in jewellery and other uses.

People who are deficient in copper may benefit from wearing copper jewellery, since it can be absorbed through the skin. Jewellery is a good way of taking in the small amount of the mineral needed. The healing properties of copper, in the form of bracelets, necklaces, rings, or earrings, can allow a minimal amount of the mineral into the body without overwhelming it. Some wearers of copper jewellery find it relieves the symptoms of arthritis and circulation problems.

  • Anti-Ageing
  • Skin Health
  • Antibacterial
  • Anti-Inflammatory
  • Good Circulation
  • Improve Digestion

Here at DEMI+CO many of our customers ask us questions about our magnetic bracelets and in particularly the benefits of magnetic therapy. One of the topics that gets bought up most frequently is the topic of inflammation, as we are not medical professionals many of our customers come to us about alternatives to medication for inflammation. We always suggest that they are best to go to a medical practitioner but if they are looking for a non-medicative alternative to give the magnetic therapy a try. As there is not much research done on this subject, we cannot guarantee results however our customers over the past six years have clearly feedback to us that magnetic therapy has helped their inflammation therefore all we can do is ask our customers to try it.
