FAQ's on Magnetic Bracelets

Frequently asked Questions on Magnetic Bracelets

Want to know all about our magnetic bracelet range? The team at DEMI+CO have put together our most frequently asked questions below so you can find out all about the benefits of having and wearing a magnetic bracelet.

Does the bracelet have to have a firm fit around the wrist?

Yes, it should fit firmly so that the magnets on the magnetic bracelet are touching your skin. Ensure it is not too tight or uncomfortable. The magnetic bracelet should be snug but comfortable to ensure maximum benefit.

Magnetic bangle –most magnetic bangles will have some leeway for adjustment, but you should always measure your wrist before buying one to guarantee a good fit.

Magnetic wristband – if you have a link style magnetic wristband then a 1cm gap between the magnetic bracelet and your wrist is ideal, any looser then it won’t be beneficial any tighter and it will be far too uncomfortable and difficult to take on and off. As there are more magnets on a magnetic wristband a looser fit is fine.

Should I be worried about the green mark on my wrist from the magnetic bracelet?

No, the green mark on your wrist is harmless as it is copper residue and a sign that the copper from the copper bracelet is being partially absorbed into your skin, the surplus copper is left on your skin. It can be easily washed off with warm soapy water.

Should I wear my magnetic bracelet 24/7? Can I take it off?

You can take your magnetic bracelet off particularly if you are showering or going to get wet. Ideally you should wear your magnetic bracelet most of the time to reap maximum healing benefits of the magnetic bracelet.

Do the magnets have to be in position to a certain part of the wrist?

Ideally yes see below, in general if the magnets are in contact with your skin then that is enough.

If you have a magnetic bangle, then the magnetic points should be in line with your inside of your wrists where your strongest pulse point is. If you have a magnetic link bracelet then there are more magnets on that type of magnetic bracelet, and it can align on any part of the wrist.

I have a magnetic bangle does the open part have to be in a specific place on my wrist?

As mentioned above yes, it would be best for the open part where the magnets are situated on the bracelet to sit on the inside of your wrist, so they align with your pulse points.

Do the magnets on the bracelet need a maintenance? How long do the magnets last?

No the magnets on your magnetic bracelet don’t really need any maintenance, just ensure you keep them clean and dry. Magnets do loose a slight bit of magnetism over the years, but their strength and healing power is still effective and lasts several decades.

I think I am getting an allergic reaction to the magnetic bracelet what should I do?

The allergic reaction if any could be due to nickel, all our magnetic bracelets are nickel free so you should not get a reaction from ours.

What are your strongest magnetic bracelets and links?

All our magnetic bracelets have the same level of strength. Each of our magnetic bracelets have at least 6 magnets and each magnet have a graded strength of 12500 gauss giving better Magnetic Therapy than just two.

I have a Titanium metal implant; will the magnets interfere or have an effect?

No, it will not, magnets don’t have any impact whatsoever on titanium metal.

Are their any health implications or contradictions I need to be aware of?

Magnetic bracelets are harmless to anyone except for pregnant women and those with an electrical implant such as a pacemaker these people should not wear a magnetic bracelet. Loose or small magnets are also dangerous for little children so please be aware of this and keep out of their reach.

According to the World Health Organisation study on magnets in 1987 they concluded that the magnetic strengths typically used in magnetic therapy do not have any detrimental effect on the human body.

Please note that we are not making any medical claims and if you are not sure about the use of magnets in a bracelet or have serious medical conditions please consult your GP or a medical professional.

Can I use my PC or Laptop when wearing a magnetic bracelet?

Yes, that is fine, as long as you do not place your magnetic bracelet on top of your laptop or near the hard drive of your PC. The compass feature on your smartphone may be affected but most smartphones already have magnets in them so they should not be affected.

The best thing to do is not have your magnetic bracelet to close to any device, instrument or electronic equipment that has strong magnets in them like headphones, speakers etc. If the magnet is one or two inches away that should be OK, just not any closer.

How do I put my bracelet on?

The magnetic bangle should have an opening and that is where you slot your wrist in. If your magnetic bracelethas a watch or link style fastening you need to unclip the clip that’s at one end and then hook it over the bar at the other end of the bracelet and then snap the clip together so it is secure.

Magnet strength questions:

Each of our magnetic bracelets have at least 6 magnets and each magnet have a graded strength of 12500 gauss giving better Magnetic Therapy than just two.

Is it OK If my bracelet gets wet?

Our magnetic bracelet and copper bracelets are not waterproof, but they can withstand some degree of water. Please do not wear your magnetic bracelet or copper bracelet in the bath, in the pool or shower. If you do get your magnetic bracelet wet, please dry it with a dry towel as soon as possible.

Our magnetic bracelet can withstand some water as they have a resin coating over the top of the magnets but to be safe, we recommend that you don’t wear them if you going to be in water for a while.

Will Magnets relieve my symptoms indefinitely?

One of the theories about how magnetism works with the body is that the fields surrounding the magnetic bracelets stimulate the field where the pain occurs. This is thought to trigger the release of the body's own painkillers, thereby providing natural relief for the person instead of having to take medications over long periods that may have bad side-effects.

A study in the BMJ in 2004 trialled the effectiveness of magnetic bracelets in reducing pain of osteoarthritis of the hip and knee. The test was carried out with a placebo group and three parallel groups to see if the magnetic bracelets are effective in pain control. 194 men and women aged 45 to 80 years took part across five general practices. Researchers concluded that pain from osteoarthritis did decrease for the group that used the magnetic bracelets.

Many of our customers benefit from magnetic therapy, however the magnetic therapy has not received as much funding into further research so there is not any consistent research or claims that can be made as yet. Magnetic Therapy is part of complementary medicine and not all areas of complementary medicine are effective and not all people receive benefits.

At DEMI+CO we go to great lengths to ensure that our magnetic bracelets are of the highest quality and made with skill and craftsmanship. We do not make any medical claims and medical conditions and symptoms can differ from each person, we can’t guarantee any cures and we do not offer a money back guarantee if a medical condition is not cured or improved in anyway. If you do suffer from any medical conditions please consult your doctor, GP or health professional first.
